About the Sierra Club Photo Section
Thank you for visiting the website of San Diego’s Sierra Club, Photo Section. Our club has been a gathering place for San Diego area photographers and enthusiasts for many years and is a mainstay in the local photographic community. We invite you to join us!
Our camera club is run by volunteer club officers (chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer, board members at-large) in their spare time during a two-year term. Your membership fee solely goes into funding activities, covering club expenses (domain, web hosting, etc.) and paying our monthly presenters for their time and effort when they share photographic knowledge with us.
Our members include professionals, enthusiasts, and amateurs spanning every branch of photography. We have members who have been photographers their entire lives, as well as members who have purchased their first camera and want to learn more about the wonderful field of photography.
We welcome you to the club. Feel free to look around the website, see who we are, what we do, and how much we want you to be a part of our group. We hope to see you at a meeting very soon!
We meet once per month from January through November. At each meeting, we’ll have a main presenter, a members only free drawing, and our MemberShare, where our members share their own photos. In addition to our meetings, we head out for a photographic activity every month.
Our online meetings via Zoom are currently limited to members, only. Our in-person meetings, once we return to them, are open to members and non-members alike, free of charge. Other clubs charge you to attend. We don’t and we welcome visitors. If you like what you see, consider becoming a member. You will also make some of the greatest friends you can find who are just as passionate about photography as you.
