Photo Quest May 2022: Cool
Oh my, time flies! May has firmly arrived and we’re hoping for cool and cloudy days under our “May Gray” marine layer but instead, it looks like we’re getting cooked with another heatwave instead, in the coming days. To counter the heat, the topic for our May 2022 Photo Quest is…
Gallery: Household Item Quadtych (PQ April 2022)
For the April 2022 Photo Quest, the task for our members was to study one single household item with the camera and create four square images for presentation as a quadtych. In this gallery, you’ll find how our members worked with this month’s theme.
April 2022 Photo Quest: Household Item Study Quadtych
Inspired by Lauri Novak’s talk from March and the photographic exercises she mentioned, the photo quest for our members in April 2022 is a photographic study of a household item.
Statement Regarding In-Person Meetings
Throughout the pandemic, members and non-members alike have asked us when we will resume our in-person meetings. Here’s an update on that.
Gallery: Numbers in Nature (Photo Quest March 2022)
Our Photo Quest theme for March 2022 was “Numbers in Nature” — and exercise in seeing creatively and adjusting one’s vision beyond the literal. In this gallery, you can see how our members interpreted the theme.
Gallery: Lake Hodges Hike
This gallery shows a few photos that our members made during the Lake Hodges nature walk, which was our March 2022 outdoor activity (members received a Dropbox file request to send their photos — if you want to add one, check your inbox!;-).
Photo Section in the 2nd half of 2020
COVID-19 infections are on the rise again in San Diego County. While the Sierra Club currently only mandates to put all personal meetings on hold until the end of August, our photo club will NOT meet in person and continue to hold all club meetings online instead, at least until the end of the year 2020. While treatment of this disease has improved, the general situation has not changed: there is no general immunity, there is no vaccine.
