Just like last year in June, we’re doing an “archive dive” edition of our monthly photo quest — we’re asking our members to dig deep and find the oldest photo that fits the theme “Waves” in their archives. The older, the better!
The theme for our May 2021 Photo Quest was “Things With Faces” and in the gallery below, you can (hopefully😅) see all the faces that our members came upon.
They are the winners of the Sierra Club’s Ansel Adams Award for Conversation Photography 2020 and their show “California Blooming” is on exhibit NOW at the San Diego Natural History Museum. For our May 2021 online meeting, it is our extraordinary pleasure to have Nita Winter and Rob Badger as our guests, with a unique look behind the scenes and the photography of their wonderful book “Beauty and the Beast — California Wildflowers and Climate Change”. It is the beginning of May and that means: time for another photo quest! Minor Martin White said: “one should not only photograph things for what they are, but for what else they are” — but since we don’t want to overload our monthly photo quest with too much meaning (it’s about getting out with the camera and having fun!), let’s train our perception and the way we see things with a little scavenger hunt for….
