Here is the gallery of submissions for our March 2020 Photo Quest “Macro & Close-Up”. Thanks to everyone who took part!
Spring in Southern California, with its blooms of wildflowers, bushes and shrubs alike, with morning dew on fresh growth and if we’re lucky a bit of rain as well, is a great time to make macro & close-up photos. And if the weather is really too bad to be outside, you can explore the details of everyday objects inside your house – or whatever you want to inspect up close with the camera for our March 2020 photo quest:
Macro & Close-Up
Our photo quest theme for February 2020 was “To The Sky” and in the gallery below you can see the many different ways how our members have interpreted the topic.
To do our part in helping to limit any potential spread of the new coronavirus, we have decided to cancel our March meeting. Thanks for your understanding!
We are happy and excited to announce that Stephen Bay, whom you may remember fondly from his excellent presentation in 2018, will teach a workshop for us. After our series of Lightroom workshops with Alexander S. Kunz, many of you have asked for the next step – going into Photoshop. Stephen has crafted a workshop that will precisely address this request. Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, we have switched this into an online workshop (“webinar”). Continue reading if you’re interested.
Join our president Alexander S. Kunz for an exploration of the (slot) canyons in the Palm Wash area of Anza Borrego Desert State Park, near the old Calcite Mine. This is a full-day activity (if you want) – depending on our timing we can head from the Palm Wash area to Fonts Point or Clark Dry Lake for sunset, and then have dinner in the town of Borrego Springs together. Continue reading if you’re interested!
February is a short month but you’re getting an extra day in 2020 to interpret the theme for our Monthly Photo Quest: To The Sky!
The theme for our first Monthly Photo Quest of 2020 was “A Sign of the Times” and in the gallery below, you can see how our members interpreted it.
You are invited to the February 2020 meeting of the Sierra Club San Diego Chapter Photo Section at the Serra Mesa/Kearny Mesa Library Community Room. Our presenter this month is pro landscape & travel photographer Dan Ballard from Colorado, with his presentation “Unlocking Your Creative Potential”. Please continue reading if you’re interested, and find the complete details with date and time at the bottom of this article.
Please note that due to a scheduling conflict at our location, this meeting is on SUNDAY.
