January 2022 Photo Quest: Coastal Birds

What a coincidence! The theme for our first photo quest of the year 2022 is “Coastal Birds” — anyone who’s coming out on Saturday to take part in our activity “Birds of La Jolla” will probably have a photo that they can submit! 😁

Doesn’t matter whether it’s pelican, cormorant, seagull, or whatever bird you manage to photograph — all coastal birds count, and your photo doesn’t have to be made as part of our activity either, of course. As long as it’s a NEW photo that you made in January 2022!

Guidelines

  • MAKE A NEW PHOTOS for the quest – no digging in the archives!
  • Your photo MUST be made in the month of January 2022
  • Color, black & white, DSLR, mirrorless, phone… doesn’t matter
  • Send high-res JPEG files, good quality, sRGB color space
  • No digital art/compositing

Before you submit your photo: please take a look at our guide on file names, format, titles, metadata. We expect technically solid photography without obvious flaws and distractions: have fun, but honestly self-evaluate. Take pride in your work!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask — simply leave a comment below.

Our monthly Photo Quest is a members-only photographic scavenger hunt. Current members will receive a submission link in their email with the theme announcement, at the beginning of each month.

PS: it looks like there’s a slight chance of rain Friday night into Saturday morning (16% in La Jolla) — not enough to prevent us from going. See you Saturday morning.
