No In-Person Meetings Until March 2021

The Sierra Club has just updated its guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic: in-person meetings and activities are to be suspended until February 28, 2021. The club is currently evaluating whether certain activities that can be done in a safe manner will be allowed sooner.

In our photographic activities, we typically see people disperse and have a natural distance from each other anyway (so that we don’t run into each other’s photographs and compositions, of course). As an interest group of the San Diego chapter, the Photo Section will nevertheless follow our parent organization’s guidelines and strictly adhere to them – and hope that safe outdoor activities will perhaps open up a little sooner than March 2021.

At the same time though, holding our meetings online via Zoom continues to be an opportunity for us to invite speakers that would normally be outside of our geographic reach, and we will continue to do that – even though right now, it certainly feels like it’s beginning to go on a little longer than we all had hoped for.

We thank you for your understanding!
